🎻 BEGINNER PLAYING ABILITY
1-3 years of private study, Suzuki book 1. Best fit for very young campers.Also a good fit for 9-11 year olds just starting out.
We can customize an older group of Mixed players.
We want everyone to feel challenged but also comfortable!

“Mixed Styles” - Campers will have fun mastering easy-to-learn tunes of various fiddle styles specifically designed for their ability level. It’s like a 101 class in college…. introductory and engaging!
Campers are going to sound like fiddlers!

🎻 Fast Fingers! - select as one of your two Major/minors.
Mixed Styles or Major & Minor Groups

🎻🎻 INTERMEDIATE PLAYING ABILITY
3-6 years of private study. Suzuki book 2+. Familiar with note reading, can pick up tunes fairly easily by ear.Kids at this level can swing towards an older aged “Mixed” Group or towards “Advanced.”
We want everyone to feel challenged but also comfortable!

6-12 - we’re on the cusp here….If your child wants to chill and not be too challenged, sign up for “Mixed Styles” and they’ll be put into a more experienced-age appropriate class.
If your child is on the cusp of being an advanced player and is up for a challenge, select two groups: a “Major” and a “Minor.” -

Campers will dive deeply into the sound & ornaments of the styles they choose. These tunes are often arranged so players experience playing melody, harmony, solos & back-up. (we’re music theory nerds so.. major and minor… get it?😂)

🎻🎻🎻 ADVANCED PLAYING ABILITY
7+ years of private study, Suzuki Book 3 or above, reads notes easily, some position work. Usually age 13 or above but younger kids playing at a high level are welcome!We will work on tunes, arrangements and harmony.
We want everyone to feel challenged yet comfortable!

“Major & Minor” - These classes are for experienced players to explore two particular styles of music they’re most interested in. Choose TWO styles. :)
Major and Minor classes are taught by teachers whose expertise is in a particular style.
Campers will dive deeply into the sound & ornaments of the styles they choose.
These tunes are often arranged so players experience playing melody, harmony, solos & back-up. (we’re music theory nerds so.. major and minor… get it?😂)
These are general guidelines for all instruments.
Group placement helps us organize groups before camp begins.
As a last resort a camper can change groups on the 1st day of camp.
